Meet Dorothy

Hi, I’m Dorothy Williams, CFEI®, founder of Flower Budgets and a Certified Financial Education Instructor.

I created Flower Budgets from a desire to become more intentional with money and take control of my financial future. At the time, I was carrying six figures of debt and learning how budgeting, planning, and consistent financial habits could help me change my relationship with money.

After starting Flower Budgets, I took my journey to YouTube, where I documented my progress while actively paying off debt. I created budget-with-me videos, cash-stuffing videos, and financial tutorials, sharing both what I was learning and how I was putting those principles into practice in my own life.

Over time, those consistent steps led to an important milestone: I went from carrying debt to becoming consumer-debt-free.

That journey deepened my passion for financial education and eventually led me to become a Certified Financial Education Instructor (CFEI®).

Today, Flower Budgets is a personal finance education company dedicated to making financial education practical, relatable, and accessible. Through The Flower Budgets Method™, instructor-led courses, workshops, self-paced courses, Case Study Fridays™, eBooks, worksheets, and other educational resources, I help individuals and families build financial knowledge, develop practical money-management skills, and make informed financial decisions.

I chose the name Flower Budgets because flowers can endure difficult conditions and still grow and bloom. I believe our financial journeys can do the same. Difficult seasons may be part of the journey, but they don't have to define where we end up.
